What is the best dental plan for getting implants?
Posted by admin as Cosmetic Dentistry
I need to get some dental implants, and I do not have insurance. Can anyone point me in the right Direction on what would be the best dental plan to cover as much as possibl?
Most of the people answering this question don’t know what they’re talking about. I’ve had two employer sponsored dental plans and they both covered implants. Aetna and Metlife. They usually cover about 50% of the implant cost. They also cover the restorative part. Unfortunately they cap yearly coverage at around $1200.00 so if you want to use the insurance to it’s fullest advantage you have the implant done in the latter part of the year and have the crown done the following year. If you’re purchasing insurance on your own it would probably be too expensive to take out a policy that covers implants. If you’re employed and your employer offers a medical spending account you may want to put money away for next year and plan the implant for after the first of the year. It’s before tax money so no taxes are paid on it and you can access the full amount after Jan 1st of next year.
Are dental implants worth the money and time?
Dont waste your time with ins and implants, i dont know of any insurance that cover them and if there does happen to be one do they cover the restorative component, and at what percentage. almost over its better to pay for you implant thant to deal with insurance, all the wait period and restriction in the end you will have paid double.

No dental plans or insurance cover dental implants, whereas bridges and partials are covered. Save some money to pay out of packet and then proceed. If you are in urgent need, travel abroad to countries like Thailand, India, etc. where the dental implants prices are quite cheap.
